Our Daughter Chloe shares her experiences of starting her own business, the joy of bringing kindness to others and why marching to the beat of your own drum and not following the crowd is always the best idea.
Whilst I was at school I was never good at maths, or should I say I was never able to understand why there was only ever one correct answer for every question. Freedom of creativity is something that only recently I have realised has always been at the forefront of my mind and everything I have sought to achieve (some may call this strong willed). Despite the immense amount of pressure to follow the grain and go to university, I knew from a young age that that was not for me.
From working for large retail brands to being promoted to ‘Cleaner Chlo’ I have been on a pretty little journey of my own. One that has lead me to the realisation that you do not have to fit into a box to be happy and you certainly don’t have to conform to something that isn’t you to be successful. Side note – success is all relative to the individual, you do you!
Without portraying this as a click of a fairy godmothers fingers, all it took was for one wise person to say to me ‘why don’t you try something completely new’ and the Pretty Little Treatments journey began. Combining traditional feel good treatments with the alternative allows me to appeal to all ages, backgrounds and styles. But one thing that all of these Pretty Little Treatments have in common, is that they are all done for that smile at the end. It’s amazing how entering a client’s home holding their hands and just talking while you paint their nails, apply henna or a little spray tan can lift a person.
I have met some truly inspirational people along the way. All the way from a cute baby bump to 90 year olds, to those who have now passed on. It may be me who is giving the treatment but it is not only the client who has gained something pretty. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves and if they don’t, they deserve the opportunity for someone to help them feel that way. And if that involves a little sparkle, then so be it!
